Christmas term project

I tried mono printing one of my images of material but I didn't think it looked very effective.
This is a painting on top of photos from a newspaper magazine. I painted the figure in the chiaroscuro style of light out of darkness. I like how he seems to be coming out of the the mans coat as well.
I wanted to experiment with different ways of drawing material so I did one in biro and another with newspaper. I don't think the newspaper collage works as well because the differences in shade aren't that obvious.
